When we first started working on PAIN we knew that launchable characters were going to be extremely important in PAIN. We thought of quite a few people who we believed “fit the PAIN bill” these were archetypes and personalities that we would enjoy seeing in the launcher. Some of these characters we wanted in the launcher because they were funny. Some of these people we wanted in the launcher because we simply disliked them.

Some celebrities we wanted in the launcher because we just plain ol’ HATED ON them. There is nothing like rampant jealousy to fuel creative juices. From the very first PAIN brainstorming session we thought of celebs we wanted in that launcher. The very first one that came to mind was DAVID HASSLEHOFF!

Why Dave? Well…

He has a talking supercar!
He hung out with (INSERT HOT FEMALE CELEB name here) on the regular.
He rocks the charts (in Deutschland at least).
He rocked one of the all time sweetest mullets (back in the day)

Even now he has a #1 Variety show!

But try as I might I couldn't hate on him for long. He's the HOFF for cryin out loud!

We could certainly do some damage though... Could he bring the PAIN?

Oh yeah.. Hoff’s so getting in our launcher!

When we went to see Hoff about PAIN I was sort of nervous because you never know what is going to happen when you tell someone you want to toss them into harms way. To my surprise he got it instantly. I’ve dealt with quite a few famous people my whole career and I can tell you honestly that David Hasselhoff is top tier. His voice over session had me (and the rest of Production) in tears. I wish I could play you the entire reel.

David was even cool enough to record a song for us. He covered “DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HURT ME” of Culture Club fame. Props to Christian (The San Diego Studio Director) for REALLY making this happen.

So 2 years (and a righteous jam session) later I give you: THE HOFF! The Hoff comes with three iconic outfits you will definitely recognize. Different poses and lines while in the air. We even gave him his own Playstation Trophy (GETTIN’ HOFF) It’s GOLD because that’s how he rolls. The Hoff comes out the same day as the Movie Studio environment for PAIN.

Thanks for being a good Sport David.. I’m still not getting into your car though.

@travis, nice work getting hasselhoff to be in the game. can't wait to fling him around. are the other costumes open from the start, or do they have to be unlocked?

ps. my little cousin loves playing pain and he also loves watching wrestling with tables, so he wanted me to ask if you think you can add wooden breakable tables in future pain labs and even in future environments.

I was confused by one of the last things you said, have you been working on his character for 2 years?

Also, will he be a premium character ($1.99 vs. $0.99)? Does the trophy require simply purchasing him or doing something with him?

And my new pain mantra- Need the ability to change characters without quitting the game. Please please please find some way to make it happen. The more characters get added to the game, the more annoying this becomes.

November 6th is going to be amazing but i can only play the movie lot up til the 14th after that Motorstorm pacific rift and call of duty world at war(thats the united kingdom release dates)

What this "premium character" stuff? I'm a little pained (lol) by spending 0.99 on every character... $2 and I'm out- I really hope that StalkingSilence's post has no grounds in reality... Just because Namco will rape their customers ($5??) for characters doesn't mean you guys should consider it...

I doubt you'll get an xmb trophy just for buying the Hoff character. That would be an all time low as far as trophies go, and besides, it wouldn't be a gold trophy if all you had to do was buy the character. It's gotta be somewhat difficult to obtain.

When I first heard that the new characters coming to pain were all icon's I never expected anyone who wasn't a video game character. The possibilities are endless now aren't they? I'm sure there are many people we can think of to throw around who will deny usage rights though.

Just 2 weeks until the update huh? Pain has been the most successful PSN title to keep getting my money again and again. I've got every level and about 5 extra characters now.

I hope the movie theater comes with a Horror Movie set for us to throw the Zombie around in. Will his limbs be able to fall off? or is that to graphic?

@Travis - You need to have a puke warning on the new PAINlab!!! I got dizzy as hell after about 1 minute of flying around! Then I got stuck under the launcher, so I felt better.

"5 New Characters and Buzz comes with the Movie Studio. The price is the same as AP so you get a free character in the movie lot. And with the movie lot we will introduce “Prestige or Premium” characters. That means they come with more than one outfit and will be priced at 1.99 Stay tuned next week for those reveals."

When we were in the development phase of PAIN we always wanted to get well known people involved. Jeff Litchford at Idol Minds kept bugging me to the point where I honestly wanted to smack him around a few times. I was always going DUDE I KNOW. DUDE I KNOW… One of the first celeb drawings we did was Hoff in Speedos (don’t ask me why he had on a leather jacket too but he did). So once we had PAIN up and running (because PAIN is better shown than explained) we went to see Hoff and he got it RIGHT AWAY. His manager Wes also “gets it” so it’s been awesome working with them because they are low on the BS and high on the results.

@SSP619: Remember when you buy add ons to a game it means that we get more Trophy points to reward. We cannot add any more PlayStation trophies to PAIN without releasing more content. Those are the rules we didn’t make them. Lastly we have always said with PAIN we plan on adding content all the time. We try to make as much content free as we can and build in value to each environment as we can. There are no bundles yet but I expect Marketing to start that soon enough.

@StalkingSilence: You have to always accomplish something before earning any trophies. There is no purchase trophy.

@Hunter: You have to unlock his other two outfits.

@Leetfoo: When we make characters that are our own we pay no royalties or fees. Those are our IPs. However, when we make someone famous we have to pay them. So the win win is we provide more than one design for the character. I know it isn’t ideal but there’s not much I can do about it.

@Tinsle: Yeah this is my fave PAINlabs right now. LOVE IT

@Liam: Getting Hoff is the Gold Trophy and you must get 69 Million Points with a Hoff character. Cumulative score not all at once. There are 7 more PlayStation trophies.

Check out the pose of the week and the screenshot sections if you want to see his other outfits. Hoff called me “Silly Man” When I first met him I will tell you guys why.

We met him and he had this book “HOFFY BOOK” and it was all these pictures of Hoff parodies that he’s gotten from all over. So I looked at him and I said…

Mr. Hasslehoff are you going to continue to let this happen or will you let my band of highly trained idiots hook you up? I mean don’t get me wrong this is nice but my guys have more than a passing competency with photoshop. And best of all… You get to approve it.

So he looks at me and says… ALRIGHT SILLY MAN!!

So when he took a look at the final product I was happy that he was happy. David is an icon and the fact that he was so cool was TRES COOL.

So in short... SSP619 The Hoff is about as worthwhile as they get. Don't make me fight you. :p

Decent new Lab, Certainly different. I'm particularly proud of a launch where I hit the barrel with the chipmonk on top of it and flew directly over to hit the one with the tiki-dude on top of it. Shown at begining and end of latest PainLab-Journal from steady shot to following shot respectively.

Harder than it seems. But anyways, enjoy!

2. Gilbert Gotfried
3. Howie Mandell
4. Steve Erwin
5. Mr Bean - complete with Teddy
6. and my personal favorite - Ernest P. Worell - he and PAIN are made for each other.

yes i loved the ending for it was reli good only bit i didnt like was the fight with navvaro at the end it was a good idea of the fight but it was quite short

For me, buses are that annoying thing I have no choice to wait for when they decide to be late and still pay full price to ride everytime! When I did have a car I loved to over take them and flip the bird. Hopefully you were on one of those busses I flipped at Rebal! Again, just kidding...Or am I?

I saw a mention of Richard simmons as a launchable character and almost wet myself. I'd love to see that. What about like a monty python homage!?!? i'd like to see that. maybe holy had grenades that replace the explosives in a level... like the medieval level we've been talking about......I'll try to put aside farcry 2 for a little while this afternoon to check out the pain labs then post my opinion. Only cause travis said it's his favorite.

All this talk about launchable characters with these acents. I'd like to see that guy from Euro Trip. Actually, two guys, the French Robot and the guy on the double decker bus......Dammit rebal, you got me to say it! Ugggh...The guy on the DD bus who talks to Cooper on a whole other level of slang. Those are some thoughts and aren't really celebrity types. And speaking of non-celebrity types>>>

T, when I posted my ideas yesterday, I did it BEFORE I had any idea, or clue what you were doing with Hoff, and his different outfits.
So I posted my ideas on how he needed his token outfits from over the years:
He needs to have:
1-The tux .. as shown in the pic.

And I posted these other 2:
2-The Knight Rider one-Black pants, button down shirt and black leather jacket..

3-His Baywatch outfit, with life saving bouy in his hand

Last Sunday, the 18th I opened my post you you with, "Happy Football Sunday", remember it?

I posted my ideas to you for the Characters and how it opens up so many possibilities for money making for you, and for us and trophies.
Now with you having Hoff, and other future plans. How, or does my ideas come into play, especially with the Trophy factors

PART 1
We now have a boat load of characters in PAIN that we can own. Now most of us buy all of them just so we can have them.

But Travis, as a business, you hope you get customers like me who just buy everything in sight, right? Of course. You want to maximize your earnings anyway possible.
But you can't do that if you also have people who will not buy all the characters as they see no need to buy basically the same character over and over again.
The only difference is their outer shell(guy/girl) and their vocal sayings.

But if you want more people to buy more characters, then I gotta put it out their once again and seen it by a couple of others as well in a round about way.

*Have you ever thought of creating a character/s that actually have special abilities? That way different characters can have different and/or special abilities that help, or hinder them.

Or more realistically,

**How about even making each one react according to their own characteristics?

-Hung Lo would be faster, lighter, but wouldn't cause as much damage because of how light he is, but he could soar higher to reach hard to get places.
So maybe he soars higher then...

-Kenny, who is big and slow, but wouldn't go as high, or as far as Hing Lo, but he would do a lot of damage landing into things as he is strong as well.
If he had special abilities, his cape would make him fly better.

-Scurv Dog is also small, and light, but a tough SOB so he would do a little more damage then Hung Lo, but with his hook, he now has a stronger grab because of it.

-Jarvis is the token average character who can go far on the launch, has good grabbing skills, and does a average amount of damage upon impact.

I know it would take a little more undertaking figuring out what each character can do, or what they should do based on their size, or special ability.
If it did work out, then that opens up possibilities GALORE for you in the sales area but also in the Trophies area and now you have all of us playing PAIN more then usual as now you have multiple options in EVERYTHING.

1st, it would make you choose who you wanted for each environment or for each side game(Toss, Horse, Crates, FWE, Spank etc).

I may pick Kenny for Mime toss as he doesn't go far on his launch, but he's strong, so he would toss them far, etc.

If it did work out, then that opens up possibilities GALORE for you in the sales area. But also in the Trophies area and now you have all of us playing PAIN more then usual as now you have multiple options in EVERYTHING.

-Have you ever thought of having Trophies for EACH character and for EACH game in PAIN.
So I get all 4 of the trophies available using Jarvis in Mime Toss and for each difficulty, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum. and earn the 20 trophies available to be won for each game. Cool.

Now if you applied that too each character?

Now you take those 20 trophies for each of those 5 games that can be won, and multiply that by the 10 characters you have in PAIN, you now have a total of 200 trophies to earn in TOTAL for every single character in PAIN in each of those 5 games alone. Not including of course the trophies for the main environment like A.Park, Downtown, or for the Studio.

Could it be overkill.. ABSOLUTELY..LOL
But it is still viable

(today- You mentioned how if you want new trophies, you need to ADD something tog et them...well. here are soem ideas...

@furrQue i dont think they have to be back to back. someone said to me that they got the trophy by making the first 3 launches clean runs, so they didn't get 20 they got 3. so maybe what happened to me was just a bug i dunno im gunna try again later.

Christopher Walken in that video was hilarious! Maybe walking up walls could be his special ability in PAIN. Well, since you really can't manuver your character outside of "Ooch-ing" him/her around, how about making all his limbs be able to grab. So, it's kind of like the Fatboy Slim video. Then all the PAIN top players will find a way of grabbing the wall with his feet and expertly timing a release-n-grab with the next foot to make it seem as if he's walking down the wall? That'd be awesome!

Sweet! The wait is over. I can't tell you how hours of my life I have lost playing PAIN and have been looking forward to a few new characters and a new area to explore.

Christmas is certainly coming early and I can't wait to lose a few more hours of my life exploring the new Movie Studio area.

@Travis - PainLabs suggestion ; Using the ultra slick slide surfaces in AP for a huge vortex shaped cone or bowl - like at the water parks you can get some serious momentum. With other npc's or objects going around to grab and fling - kind of like roller derby in a toilet bowl. Or a network of slides. Also:

Skate Park theme using same type slick surface w/rails, humps, build up sick air on half pipes, corkscrew loops, vert ramps etc. Love the physics on them slick surfaces.

No pressure man - just for a goof.

yes FurrQue i am talking about you, man you rock and have my respect too, i am in awe at your score.
@Tavis/Coke would it be possible for you to make the bonus time and bonus crates messages disappear after 5 seconds or so because you cant see the balls rolling underneath, many times i have been waiting for a ball to roll towards crates which would give me 10 or 15 and after thinking that they must have stopped i reset the launch and then... boom. If i could see under the white writing i would have waited every time.

I am in favour of the bus idea from no1rebal.But it has to be a red double decker London bus with the open back, as kids we used to hop on and off between stops trying our best to avoid the conductor. As Jarvis you could ooch down the bus for an exploding crate which would explode the bus and free Jarvis to carry on oochin.

yes it was the first 1000 i have reached last week it froze at 901 and i went half barmy coz my high score was 887, does anybody know the reason for the freeze ups or is it just one of those things that we mutants have to get used to?

i had a PAINlabs idea, the launcher is on the back of a truck which drives around in circles around the PAINlab and there is things to hit but they are hidden from curtain angles. i dunno im sure some of the creative and troubled minds on here will be able to think of more.

@Liam - Chill maan he's been away for much longer and besides it's the weekend. I'm pretty sure Movie Lot will have the same number of trophy's as AP.

@Slamin - The first couple times it locks up on you it's psychologically very disturbing - especially if you were on your way to the top score. Believe me you will get used to it - unfortunately. As a mutant you will learn the anti mindf*ck skill and counter it's evilness (I blend in some herb therapy for gp). I'm not positive but a clean PS3 may be less problematic - i.e. one with minimal files and clutter. Furry said he cleaned his up and he has definitely had the most success. Good luck man.

@Travis - I hate to keep bitchin at ya but dammit man HnC Plat Club continues to screw me royally and ckokes the game after you hit the target bear. Elation/depression taking it's toll on my general good natured non violent demeanor. Now I'm off to purchase wall spackle for the errant blows I have delivered directly to either side and behind me. Anyway, I know a lot of you had complained about the slowdowns in HnC but I just had my first serious playtime on it last night and it DOES slow down a lot and makes it really hard to play. I just don't see the reason why? There's no explosions when it does it, it just kinda starts to slow down, it seems weird. Awesome mode though.

Man, I'm at work, I would much rather be at home playing PAIN right now. Have you ever sometimes kinda fallen out of gaming and then when you finally get back on the horse you just want to keep playing? That's how I feel right now, I'm so back into PAIN Still hate that smokestack trophy for being so damn difficult. Stupid trophy... I did some of the PSN trophies this weekend, Harder dicks balls was way easier than I thought it would be

I had saints row 1 on my 360 and after being so disappointed by gta i knew i had to get it to get my sandbox fix, and it didn't let me down!
LBP will be my next purchase too, but i'm worried about all this overhyping from the sony marketing team, that game has been everywhere recently. But will reserve judgement for now......

Cool, Total overdose is GTA with max payne bullet time. Which I find AWESOME. If you have a PSP they made Chili Con Carnage as a non sandbox version of Total Overdose.

@knizz total overdose is awesome my favourite thing you can do is when you drive past a pedestrian and open your car door so it knocks them flying. on of the best things about saints row 2 is that it is like grand theft auto but its more open eg flying in planes, choosing your characters appearance, using almost anything as a weapon (like guitars). on my character he has a traffic cone as a hat.

also i think they should have other things like avalanche, were there is no slingshot, you just jump and roll dwn the hill and try to getin the biggest snowball possible and there are obstacles and jumps.
i mean it's called pain not slingshot. and you ca get hurt in so many other ays then getting slingshotted.

Silence Means Travis is busy so what does that mean this time:
PAIN Movie Studio is in Format: Like I said before once our crack QA squad has finished testing it goes to the final step in our process before it hits the store font. Format testing. I am very confident we will be fine. Movie Studio has been pretty good on that front. So here all I do is wait and hold my breath.

Making Movies: We have two more movies about new things in Movie Studio that we have not explained yet. We finished the one movie already and the next one is nearly done. Hopefully you will see the new Movie this week. I have every expectation that you will. Trust me when I say you will LOVE this next movie.

Web Changes: The look and functionality of this site is going to change soon and I am now devoting a lot of time to this. Hopefully I will get this done within the next couple weeks.

Online: Online play is in internal BETA and we are working on speed and ease of play. We are plugging some exploit holes and making sure it’s not easy to be a “bag-o-douche”. We are also completing the final touches on the second pay mode. We have already said Darts is a pay mode but there is another mode I will be announcing after the release of Movie Studio. At the expense of being accused to being a tease I really like this unannounced pay mode. It is very much based on a LOT of suggestions you all have made here on this board.

I am trying to make sure all the above happens before the new year so work continues!

We modify the rules and put time limits on things to keep the game going so you can't be a douche there. And the real sign of "The Douche" is the number of disconnects. It's right on your PAIN profile.

So either take your whoopins like a man or be labeled disconnect-to-tron.

Im new to this game. Been playing for hours. btw, the game is awesome, which brings me to asked. Does this game have an in game stat screen. If it those, where do i need to go to see how many grabs i have made and how much points i have already accumulated. It seems like its taking forever for me to unlock everything. Damn dude, I thought I was having a flashback or some crap as I THOUGHT I made that post. Dude, you couldn't just say, Hey guys, check out this link, it shows a list of unlockables for FOM2?

1st, that is NOT a trophy's list for RFOM2.
They had the same type of list last year for the first game, and all it was, just like as it was with Uncharted, (before they came out w/ the update for trophy's) was goals to complete in the game, where you would UNLOCK certain things for, or in the game.
Be it the Art drawings or sketches of scenes, video's, alternate costumes etc. Uncharted had the same thing, get 50 head shot and you unlocked a Making of video etc..
Unless what you saw had said specifically said, RFOM2 TROPHY LIST, then either the person who posted it assumed it was a trophy list, or you did. I am in the FOM2 BETA and many of us have asked on their message boards about trophy's and were told no.

By the way, I saw this on gamespot.com, and inside of G. Hero World Tour, their is a easter egg to find, or be unlocked, for next years, G.H METALLICA!!!!

Dude, I asked travis the same question. I am in the HOME beta, and they had the PAIN trailer playing in the Theater their. I asked him if he had any control over it etc. Because I fully agree, they need a section for PAIN.
As for as the FAR CRY 2 Room in HOME, THEY SUCK. When they came out with the Unchartedrakes Fortune room, it was called Sully's Bar. It was a bar that had 2 rooms upstairs that had keypads on the doors for entry. You had to play the video game in the bar, beat it, and your final score was the password to get in. One was the artifacts room where you see some of the artifacts from the game, and the other room is the Film room, where you see the rest of the artifacts from the game, and sketches of the game on the walls.

When they came out with them Far Cry last week, a lot of us were excited. Then we got their
It's a train station depot. Their are a couple of newspaper clippings on the ground that you can read..a game called Macarana or something.. and a dirt lot. THATS IT. Many of us complained of course. We all saw at E3 that they have the Resistance and WarHawk rooms, but they haven't released thme yet.

I know that their are going to be sending out MORE HOME invites to the Beta, and maybe in December, open it up to everyone in a public Beta.

Its cool dude, not everyone reads everything. but they so deserve a spot in HOME. If they are gonna have rooms for their games in HOME, they gotta have a room for PAIN.

Sony doesn't accept submissions from players. I tried.

So, we click on the PAIN icon in the World Map, and when we get in, we got our own hang out in the aforementioned
"PAIN Trauma Center". Now you can have all the game modes in certain area's of the Trauma Center. In one facility, room, or waiting room even, we got the actual levels of Downtown, and A. Park. Once you access those, you open up the other area's of the Trauma Center.
We can have the actual PAINLabs in the actual Trauma Center Labs! Just like in a Emergency Facility. Since you can only walk around the room, sit down, or play a video game, inside that room we can have certain area's where every PAINLabs you come out with, is their in the room.

Maybe the Concrete Blocks Wall is by the Casting section where they put on the casts. Cause God knows hitting concrete that hard, your breaking something. Have x-rays of broken bones, all over the place, crutches etc. Maybe even have a poster of Hung Lo bitching about his back. Even Brock Lee and his fists, aka, cups of fury can be accessed by doing a "Reflex Test".

In another area of the PAIN Center you can have the side game modes like FWE. You can even have a poster and above it says, "Do not play with Explosives" and under it is a way to access the FWE Game. Have a Disease Control section and that's Spank the Monkey..lol. And possibly add him into the Sports Medicine area where we have Bowling, H.O.R.S.E. and Klown Toss.
Oooooh I would love that. SEND IT IN HOSS, SEND IT IN TO YOUR CONNECTIONS! LOL

Damn dude, I didn't realize you had a severe injury to your back and are on house arrest due to it. I hope everything turns out well for you and you feel much better as soon as possible. Besides that, I feel the same way with this whole beta thing. I also am seriously anxious to get Home, but all this talk about applications, sedning out codes and testings is just too much for me. Thoses 3 people you know are the lucky few who take it for granted. Not that I'm so deeply interested in getting in the beta, it's the realease of the finished Home I want. Hey man, thanks for the well wishes. What did you do, go back and read a bunch of pages? lol.
Thankfully I am NOT on house arrest, but it does feel like it sometimes. I go to physical Therapy 3 x's a week, and if I need to go to the store, I go shopping. Got no choice, no one else to do it ya know.
But I can't do squat considering I can't do anything when I get out, lol. No sports at all, no jogging/running, no gym, no playing with my niece and nephew, no carrying heavy objects, no traveling really. I can travel to a certain extent, just gonna hurt alot..lol but i deal with it so.
So I sit home, and I draw a lot, love to draw, work on ideas for different things, jump on the PC for a few minutes at a time, play video games, watch CNBC, CNN, ESPN etc.
I have gone to Manhatten a couple of times to my Dr., but the train ride is brutal for a 1hr 15 mins, hard seats, and the bumps don't help. I've driven in a couple of times, and while I am more comfy in my SUV, when I go to get out, that's when it really kicks in, and when I get home I'm shot to sh!t, and it's ice packs galore.
The Fusion I had in April has helped a good amount, now I'm dealing with constant muscles tightness and spasms in my lower back, and my left side., now THAT sucks.

Yeah I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Trauma Center idea. I know they wouldn't use it because I read the Sony mandate that they don't take idea's because "they" may be working on something similar, and if they are the same as your submission..oh well for you..lol

Well, sincerely speaking from experience, I really hope you get better. I've been through some bad times. When I was about 7 or 8, I was playing around in the entrance of the building I lived in. There were these two marble benches on either side. I was running back and forth to them jumping on one, jumping off then running to the next. I finally stopped doing it when I slipped and landed my shin on the edge of the bench. It cut a huge hole in my leg basically ripping off the flesh. Surprisingly, I felt no "PAIN"(Pun intended) but was quick to respond by covering the hole and playing it off. My mother was like, are you ok, I was like yeah, then the blood came! I got a police car ride to the hospital. Afterwards I couldn't walk for about 3 weeks. There was nothing they could do, but let it heal. It looks like a "D" shaped scar with the curved part facing downward. Another incident, I was cleaning up in my father's hardware store in the window repair station. There was sheets of glass in a stack against a wall. I pulled them away to sweep behind, & the next thing I knew, the stack crushed my thumb against my waist. The glass cracked where my thumb was & it cutt my thumb open. It was like a little door that when opened, it squirted blood at you. This one did hurt by the way, I was screaming so much, I got dizzy. The glass also cut my tendon so I couldn't bend my thumb. After 3 surgeries and weeks of therapy, it was back to normal. Good thing too because PAIN is one of my favorite games! The doctors started calling me accident prone. Anyway, hope you get better & like the vid, add me on PSN.(Same as here, w/no spaces) Now my signoff!

Well, us being only about 6 million people does tend to make us sparse online Anyway, I think there was another danish guy on here at one time, Kasper, I think.

I do find it stupid that US playstation site is the international site instead of calling it international. the local sites are a joke.

I had an idea for another celebrity chracter.

I purchased The Incredible Hulk on Blu-Ray and was watching it last night. When Lou Ferrigno had his cameo it just hit me. He loves to kind of parody himself on sitcoms.

Then he could have three outfits: His Pumping Iron workout outfit, his Sinbad outfit, and his Hulk green.

I just think he would be great in the same way The Hoff is, because he never takes himself too seriously and seems to have no problems with jokes at his own expense.

And on that thought I wonder if any comic book characters could be considered. They all have alter-egos and most have had at least one costume change over the years.

Nono, that's cool, but that e-mail more or less said: Sony ownz y00!!! They can add commercials and shit. It's cool though, it's their stuff and I like that they just let you do it. I like that you upload them, I hardly ever download trailers from PSN, I usually watch them on youtube and such

You aren't a Sony whore officially until they send you a membership card (with your name on it) into their Sony Backstage Pass Support program, without you having to request it.

All I did was register all the Sony stuff I own. I guess between my Vaio PC, my wife's portable DVD player, my PSP, and my PS3 they felt I deserved a special support number and Web site.

Nice story there mop cheese. When I have cut myself deep, or had something cause a big open wound, I immediately put as much pressure as I can muster, or pinching together the area so no blood can seep out. Kinda cool and it works.
I put the Titanium is for the 2 rods and the 4 screws drilled into my spine. (transverse proccess), that are made out of titianium. I asked for platinum rods myself..lol..

How do I make a living? Technically, I don't make a living because I am not working lol. But I get paid as if I was, just not as much.
We also have Social Security, and a division of that is called Social Security Disability. Now I get paid every month from a program called Workmans Compensation, and I also get paid by S.S. Disability because of the credits I built up when I was working.

I don't know if you have that where you live. But here in the states, Workman's Compensation is a program where, when you are working for your company, business etc., if you get hurt on the job and cannot work because of getting hurt while doing your job, you get a portion of your salary paid to you from the companies insurance company.
Every business has to pay a certain amount of money every month to their insurance company, and that covers the employees in case someone gets hurt while at work doing their job.

Say for example I work for Idol Minds as a game designer and I use my PC for my job. Idol Minds signs up with Hartford Insurance Company, pays them a certain amount of money each month, based on how many employees they have, and the type of business it is. Construction companies pay a much higher premium because of the nature of the job.
Now if I am doing my job at my desk and my wrist starts hurting, and I go get it checked out by my Dr., and I find out I have Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. My doctor tells me I can't use my wrist for anything for a few months. But I need my right hand/wrist to do my job? Since I cannot use my hand because of this injury, I cannot work. I then inform my employer of this, and file a Workmans Comp. claim.
Now the insurance company will send you to their own doctors of course because they do NOT want to pay you. If their doctor agress with my doctors prognosis, I then get paid by the insurance company a percentage of my salary. But not ALL of your salary.
So if I was making at Idol Minds, $800.00 a week, after taxes, say $575.00, I will get a check from the insurance company for around maybe...MAYBE $250.00 bucks a week, $500 every 2 weeks, IF THAT!!

It's such BS. I went from making 750 a week, 3000 grand a month down to 1000 a month, its bs. You get, I think it is around 2/3rds of your salary. And the Insurance company pays for all my medical bills related to the injured wrist I suffered while doing my job.

After a while the Insurance Co. tries and offers you settlements, so they can be released from you. I was offered back in 2004, I think, maybe 2005, a lil over $48,000.00 to settle. Now after my lawyer gets his share, it was $42,000. Now it sounds like a lot, and it is to a certain extent, but I said no friggan way.

See, when you accept the insurance companies settlement offer, they are no longer responsible for me. Meaning, if anything arose with any injuries I had, I would have to pay for it out of my pocket. If I accepted their offer back then, by now with Prescriptions, doctors appointment, therapy etc.. that 42K? It would be gone.

The surgery I just had in April cost the doctor/hospital around 40K grand. I know this because when I asked for copies of my records, they included the Billing sheets. I saw how much a titanium screw was(1450.00), the room I was in was $2500.00 a day, how much they charge for a Advil(4 bucks by the way)..lol. So the bill was around 40 grand.
But that cost was the DOCTORS cost. Not what I would have paid if it was on me. My cost? $80-$100 grand or more. Now if I accepted their whopping 48,000 settlement, I am now 60 grand in debt.

Social Security Disability I also get paid from because of the work credits I have earned over the years from the places I worked at.

before I was hurt, I was brining in anywhere from $650 up too $800 a week while roofing depending on the jobs we had. I was paid on and off the books. When I got hurt, I got my Comp check, that you get once every 2 weeks, and for a whopping $280.00, $140 bucks a week I was being paid, $560 bucks a month, and my rent alone was 1100.00 lol! S
o I am fu#$%%. Of course I called my Workers comp attorney about this and then he has to ask for a court date to see the Comp. judge and then the insurance co.'s attorney comes in and they babble and my attorney fights for my rights and for what I am owed, due etc..

So IF ANYONE, ANYEONE who reads this gets hurt at work? Get yourself a Workmans Comp attorney, because if I did not have one I would have been FU@##@.

I heard about the NHS in Michael Moore's documentary entitled "SIcko" I'm very upset we don't have something similar here. Maybe some may disagree with me, but watch the movie before you judge my decision. By the way, it's a very good documentary, I recommend it to all! At times I feel like going to Canada & getting shit fixed & comming home not a penny less missing! Even Michael's parents live in Canada & never leave without insurance coverage.

@Leo: First off, Michael Moore is a good movie maker, no doubt. And he does bring up some issues in his movies and books but he is very biased, very very biased. Almost to a point where I won't call the documentaries at all. And I agree with a lot of what he is saying too.

Luckily I live in a small country where hospitals, doctors etc. is free(Well, paid through our very high taxes).

@Haskell: Tough luck man, that's a bummer. In Denmark if you get taken care off, of course if you have a high paying job that won't be what you will be getting but you won't suffer. And luckily no one has to worry about medical bills. The downside of this is of course that doctors aren't paid the same amount as the would in other countries which in turn means that equipment and skill is on an overall scale lower than say, a rich hospital in the US. A good law the current government made was that for whatever surgery you need done the waiting period cannot exceed 3 month or you have the right to get it done on a hospital of your choosing, be it private domestic or foreign, on the hospitals that made you wait's dollar.

I myself have been very lucky, I've never broken a bone and I never have back problems no matter where or how I sleep. I'm still young though. I can hardly see on my right eye so my judging of distances is a bit off but other than that I don't have any health problems at all. I'm both a blood and organ donor(which is a volunteer service) and I pay my taxes with pleasure. I have nothing but respect for people who have had problems, be it health or other and try to rise above it and if me paying my taxes from my already good income helps people in need then I gladly pay.

Anyway, to sum up: Keep your chin up Haskell, it really does take a man to overcome something that immobilizes you.

@rebal: it took me about 20 tries to get harder dicks balls, the only "hard" one is the American football IMHO. It's probably one of the most fun trophies there is, I wish we had a game mode kinda like it.

Now, the smokestack trophy though I've given up on. Stupid smokestacks...

@knizz yeah before i said about PAIN basketball. you could have the hoop getting smaller as you get further. and on painful the hoop could move side to side.
@barnsley it took me about 2 weeks to get the trophy. the first 3 went in and the rugby ball was left whe i threw it it landed behind the bins so i kept launching at it until it went over the edge.

Regarding the going out into oblivion thing in the Labs: I have found that if I am not too far out or going too fast I can Ooch two times (don't go past the O's) to the side, let it recharge, do it again (same side, of course), and keep that up until I actually circle around. It doesn't work every time, but it does most of the time.

Hopefully that helps you out until they implement your rebounding border idea.

has anybody noticed that when you launch at the explosives with the umbrellas on top of them, the umbrellas stay floating in the air and if you launch at the bottom bit (the poll) you just swing around on the poll and the only way to make them stop disobeying the laws of physics is to launch at the top.lol. bet lab so far. i like knocking out one of the bikers and watching the rest fall over him and pieces of his bike. but my favourite thing to do is to hit the explosive by the security van and watch it fly into the bikers. cant wait to see molten's vid.

@travis what is the actual rating for PAIN because "teen" dosnt really give any info it could be a 13+ game or a 19+ game? because on the PS store it says its a 16 but on another site i saw it said it is a 12.

He may be baised, but isn't that kind of what you have to be in documentaries? I mean, your mission in a documentary is to expose the truth & reality to the untrained eye. In Sicko, Moore's approach is he down-talks health care companies, what they do, gives you examples of bad situations that actually happened. He talked to people on both sides, people who are in serious debt because of the health care burdens & people who used to work for health care companies & quit because they had guilty consciences. Actually in this documentary, he's not so biased. He talks about the higher taxes due to NHS and asked people how they feel about it. He talked to a doctor who enjoys being a goverment employee with similar benifits like USA doctors pay. He had a nice car & a beautiful home. So really, the only differences with NHS & Medicare are the survival rate!

@Leo: There's a lot more to it than that but I agree that having free medical care is a plus, I've luckily never really had to use it but my wife has. We have to pay for dentistry(is that a word?) but only partly.

I live in a small country where we're lucky enough that nobody have to work 24/7 and live off foodstamps. And I should know, when I was growing up I was what is considered poor here in Denmark. And let me tell you it wasn't THAT hard.

I still don't know what the big deal about HOME is... There are more/better videos in the PS store, and the "games" they have are on par with atari 2600 programes... Dude, I didn't get the "thanks for playing R2 email. And I played today also for a little while.

HOME is cool, they are adding to it here and there, but it definately has HUGE promise and is something really unique. I was over on the Japanese HOME servers, and their place is awesome looking. 3 movie theaters, a game room that is sponsored by Namco.. where their arcade has PacMan, Galaga, Dig Dug and more. Their is soooooo much coming out it's gonna be overkill.
They are working on having us being able to play our own videos, music etc inside HOME, and have friends over and stuff and so much more.

But what there is now, is not the end product. This is NOTHING to what's coming. The Public Beta is coming soon, and thereafter MORE stuff is being added and version 1.0
The one Sony guy said, I have been seeing alot of people say when there done with HOME, they will finally release it. But the thing is, HOME will NEVER be done! It will continually evolve. It is a never ending process.

@Haskell - I just don't see what home is good for. I use my PS3 for games, Movies, Music...you know things that actually do something. Home just sits there doing nothing... It may just sit there but it has the potential to change the entire industry of online communities. not just gamming, we could experience new things through a service like this. With the built in sponsored spaces and them being first and third party. You can imagine the possibilities. Imagine (For all you myspacers out there) what if Home had a MySpace "Space"? A new way of checking your messages and stuff. Just an example you guys. But think about it...

It needs a lot of work. It's really not much more than the online lobby for Hotshots Golf. I think people are dreaming about what they want in it, and getting their hopes up. I'm not a Sony basher. I'm the exact opposite... I'm a Sony whore!!! My TV, digi-cam, vid-cam, Home Theatre, 400 disk DVD changer, dvd burner, 2 E-readers, mp3 players, headphones, cell phone, desk speakers, even my thumb drive is a freakin 5 gig sony microvault! I have a SonyStyle credit card... I drive 25 miles to the Sony store at least once every 2 weeks! I'm a Playstation guy to the core... I have 2 PS3's and I've bought 2 others as gifts... I wouldn't own any other system! BUT... Home is a waste at this point. By the time you load it up and get to whatever "space" you would go to to check messeges, you could just start the browser and hit favorites. I wanted it to be cool... but if it smells like it, looks like it and acts like it... You can be pretty sure of what it is...FAIL!!

@Leo - I wasn't trying to start a @#$% measuring contest... I was just trying to show that I support Sony. I just don't support this Home thing. It's pretty lame, and unless it changes a lot, I won't be using it... But if you want to measure... I have 1 PS1, I'm not sure how many PS1 discs I have... I'd say about 6 inches worth of stacked disks. 4 PS2's (2 Original, 2 slim...really... theres a reason)about 50 games... 2 PSPs(1 fat, 1 slim) about 30 UMD games and about 7-8 downloaded games. 2 PS3's (60gig and 40 gig both w/320gig HDDs) about 30 blue-ray games and 57 PSN titles. (PS1 DL's included). I also have no wife or kids to support..HA! I wonder why....

Utterly insane! Too much stuff! Why do you even have two PS2's and 3's? And you have a PS3 that plays that ridiculous ammount of PS2 games. Maybe it's just me, but I'd definately get rid of all the stuff I didn't need. You have a PS3 that plays your PS1 and 2 games so eliminate your PS1 and 2 and the 40GB PS3, then go through the games you hardly ever touch and loose those. I don't know where you are, but here in NY the PS2's value is only going down, about $50 for the slim and $30-$40 for the fat. Or if you're one of those collectors, go ahead and keep it all! Anyway, bac k to the original topic, Home is not much now, but it will be. Like I said before, Sony doesn't dissapoint. remember November 2006? @Leo - Thing is I was thrilled Nov. of 06! I've never had a bad thing to say about the PS3... I've never not had a game I wanted to play on it. Back to Home...Unless Sony puts out a disk changer for the PS3 and I can use Home to launch all my games from there, I don't think there would be a reason to ever start it up. Actually, why would you want to go through Home to play a game anyway? It's just one more app running, eating up RAM and other system resources. Again, besides a multi-person chat client, I don't see any advantage to it.

Once more, Sony doen't dissapoint. I expect nothing but good things to come of Home. Yeah, maybe at first it'll just be some online community of people who just want to chat and play pool for free together, but it can and will evolve into something better. And given Sony's history, I don't doubt it at all. I also never had anything bad to say about Sony. Every little thing that was an issue was solved promptly and efficently (eg: background download among other things)

I'm sure they'll be doing a lot more things to Home in the months and years to come. We just have to be patient. plus, if you don't want to use it don't. You can still text chat, mic chat, and video chat with people straight off the XMB. But one of these days, you'll hear about something that'll spark your interest on Home and load it to check it out for yourself!

@Pain Team- I've gotta hand it to you, bringing out content so smooth & quick, I don't want to jinx you but it seems the PAINful waiting is a thing of the past. Keep up the efforts & respect for the work ethic you show.
@TonyB- I can see your point of view quite clearly. I have strong doubts about Home. Don't get me wrong, I think it will be a fun thing for a short while but will quickly lose it's appeal. It's another thing that's received too much hype which transcends it's true playability. I hope I'm wrong & as you said if it will include access to all my media & so forth with the speed of the XMB it will be for me, otherwise "video Barbie" (quality summary might I say) is not for me. Just my point of view though, others may well see it differently.

Sorry to ask directly, but I loaded up pain the other day & after the update checker screen finished it's business, I pressed the cross button to skip the ads and go straight to the title screen where the game began loading the save data. After the game stopped loading the game save, I got a message on the screen that read, "Your PAIN save data was created by another user. You will not be able to post to the global leader boards or save data until you create your own save data." I'm highly concerned about this message. I really wouldn't like to start attaining all my trophies all over again. I dont know how this is possible because I'm the only user on my PS3 that actually plays PAIN or even has a save file. I sent an e-mail from clicking on the e-mail link above, but haven't recieved a response yet. I really need this resolved because I'm too afraid of messing something up by playing the game. Please HELP ME!!

With the introduction of all these new character add-ons, I would REALLY like to see some simplification of the character select screen. Rather than having to scroll horizontally through six (from what I recall?) large character photos at a time, you could have a vertical list to scroll through, and show an image as each character is highlighted for selection.

Just my two cents! This would be a fantastic update to make character selection just a bit easier.

This is a GREAT game! Keep up the good work.

There was many many many celebration parties around the country, you election have pretty much filled the news. Now it's more or less over though as experts say it won't have an influence on the economy or anything untill he's actually President

I have not heard a single McCain supporter on the news, regardless of what party people vote for here in Denmark. Obama was the clear right choice when no doubts here in Denmark.

@Foolkiller: I don't want to make this a big political forum but my personal opinion is that the two party system is due to you guys voting for the President and not the parties. In Denmark we vote for the parties who beforehand points as the one they will vote as Prime minister. That way people that don't vote for the Prime ministers party can actually still get the most qualified Prime minister of choice into office. Also, the government and ministers thereby come from several parties instead of just one.

Anyway, reason number two for McCain not to win: He wouldn't have survived his entire term, what is he, 198 years old?
