I was at the Game Developers Conference last month and I ran into a video game editor and he asked me when I was going to release more content for PAIN. I checked my cell and said, "Right about now." After he got over the shock of that instant gratification he said… "Well I guess you have to since you know your customers have been feeling like there should have been more in PAIN."
If you know me you will know I really have a problem with holding back how I feel about things even if my audience is an editor. I'm a pretty straight shooter so I looked at him and I said. "No, we are releasing more content for a few reasons."
1. We have a team of developers whose job it is to improve PAIN by getting user input and folding that into the main PAIN product.
2. When I said we are committed to PAIN for more than just the initial release, I meant it.
3. PAIN is about evolving gameplay, so it’s only natural that we keep refining the gameplay.
4. My last point was actually me swearing in my head. So just imagine your own fitting line here. Chances are you will be close to what I was thinking.
There's a slang saying: "Word is bond." Which essentially translates into “mean what you say”. So I always try to live that way. I most certainly always try to make product that way. When I say that we are listening and that PAIN really is better for the community's involvement, I REALLY mean it.
When we have meetings about the PAIN community, we mention you by your board names. Some of you are already personalities to us. Your high scores speak volumes, too. These are all good things. It means the pressure we put on the powers that be to create this site was worth it.
I am mentioning this because the PAIN world is going to get a bit larger. We are going to be released in other territories shortly. That means we will see new faces. Let’s all make the new members feel welcome. I am sure they will have some of the same questions you all did when we started this site. So H8 Squad take it easy on the noobs alright?
Two new PAIN Ladies
This week we add two characters to the PAIN cast: Muffy and Ginger. Cheerleader and Nurse characters needed to happen. I am sure we have both hated both of them at some point in our lives. Although I think I am a little partial to Muffy because her flip animations are pretty darn sweet. Her voice makes me want to blow her up though. Ginger really sounds like she's enjoying the PAIN experience too much. You'll see what I mean.
Work still continues on the new environment. Yes progress is going well and YES it will be awesome when it arrives. Thanks for the input PAINposters. Everyone here on Team PAIN really appreciates your support.
