OK, y’all, it was pretty clear from the first several
responses to Jeff Litchford’s “Pirates or Ninjas?” post that you folks lean
more Ninja than Pirate. Now that the
People have spoken, we’ll be true to our word and bring it to you.
Enter Hung Lo:
Able to smack into tall buildings, take out Grannies,
gracefully Ooch off crates and plenty more in a single launch, Hung Lo will be
the next available addition to our PAIN family.
Don’t let the “compact” size fool you - this cat has mad skills. As you probably know, you’ll see Hung Lo on
your Character Select screen when he’s available, and if you’ve picked up Santa
or Cookie, you know how easy it is to get a character if you want to get your
Ninja on.
Pirate fans, don’t fret.
We wouldn’t leave you guys hanging, so we’ll have something coming for
you guys soon, too. Personally, I’ve
never gotten into the Pirates/Ninjas argument because I happen to be half
Pirate and half Ninja, but that’s another story for another day. In the meantime, watch your back…I’m known to
be occasionally silent but deadly. It’s
the Ninja in me.
But wait, there’s more!
What kind of Minister of Information would I be if I didn’t let you know
about the new Single Player Mode coming up?
We got a lot of positive feedback on Fun With Explosives, so the guys at
Idol Minds put together a new Single Player version of FWE. This version is pretty different from the
Multiplayer version, and I think you’ll dig it.
It’s complete with a Freestyle mode for practicing, the classic Normal, Hard, and PAINful
difficulties, and it has its own Leaderboards, where I’m sure we’ll be seeing a
lot of you. Oh, and it’s free, so
download and enjoy.
Speaking of Leaderboards, obviously some people have been
playing things a bit shady in Aftermath, and we have detected an “imbalance”,
so to speak. In the interest of fairness
and having actual skilled players taking their rightful places on the
Leaderboards, we’ve made some changes to gameplay and score tracking, so you’ll
be seeing some more realistic and properly-earned scores on the Leaderboards,
too.
As always, we love hearing from all of you. You guys are the reason we are making PAIN as
good as we can, and we ARE listening.
Peace,
Jason Coker
