What is the goal in PAIN™?
There are many gameplay goals in PAIN™. Each goal depends on the mode you are playing at the time. The overall goal in PAIN is to cause your character pain by damaging your character and wrecking the theme environment. The more damage and pain you cause translates into more points!
How do you play PAIN™?
One again this varies from mode to mode. Primarily you use the launcher (an oversized slingshot) to throw your character into an environment to cause damage. Play also consist of grabbing, ooching, and throwing objects to cause even more damage and pain.
What is Ooch?
Ooch is the invisible force you apply to your character after it has struck anything in the level. Use your directional buttons to Ooch (nudge) around the environment after you have struck anything (or vice versa). Ooch power has diminishing returns until it has been replenished. This will happen every couple seconds as long as you are still in motion. If you stop moving you stop getting more Ooch. So obviously you want to keep moving and keep getting hurt to get more Ooch.
How do you score points in PAIN™?
Causing damage to your character and to your environment scores points. The more objects you strike increases your multiplier. There are also combinations in PAIN™ that will also add to your point multiplier try posing in air and hitting specific targets for hidden combinations.
Do you need to be connected to the PLAYSTATION(R)Network to play PAIN™
No, but you cannot post high scores or download new content if you are not connected when you load PAIN™.
How do I get my score on the global leader boards?
You must compete on the PAINful levels of play to post scores to the global leader boards. All other scores are not tracked. In PAINdemonium only the Aftermath mode is tracked as well.
Who is developing PAIN™?
PAIN is developed by Idol Minds and Sony Computer Entertainment World Wide Studios San Diego.
Can more than one player play PAIN™?
There are single player modes in PAIN. There are also modes in PAIN that can be played by up to four players. Multiplayer modes in PAIN are local and either simultaneous play or round robin (ie passing the controller).

There are different modes of play that test your PAIN™ inducing abilities. The initial modes in the Downtown theme are: PAINdemonium, Mime Toss, Spank The Monkey (Single Player) and HORSE, PAIN™ Bowling, and Fun with Explosives (Multiplayer).

How many playable characters are there in PAIN™?
PAIN™ releases with Jarvis as the primary character. Through play you can unlock other Jarvis characters as well as Ed (The Cow Mascot). Soon there will be more characters to purchase and unlock.

New characters will be available via the PLAYSTATION(R)Store. New PAIN characters will also appear as new icons inside of PAIN™ as long as you are signed into the PLAYSTATION(R)Network when you load.
How often will new content be released for PAIN™?
Look for new content to be released regularly for PAIN™. There will be new content monthly and quarterly for PAIN™
How do I get the new PAIN™ content?
As long as you are signed into the PLAYSTATION(R)Network when you load PAIN™ you will be alerted to all the new content available. Participate in the PAIN™ community as well. You can help us determine what kind of new content is created.
How do I unlock Trophies in the Trophy Room?
Trophies in PAIN™ are awarded for outstanding achievements of skill. There are trophies for high scores, accuracy, speed, Ooching, Grabing etc.. anything you can do well in PAIN™ is mapped to a cool trophy. That includes grabbing old ladies.
Will there be new Trophies added?
ABSOLUTELY! We will add more trophies as we think of more silly things to reward. If you think of some please let us know on the message boards.
